Alabama Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season at Home with Annual Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team opens the 2019 fall season by hosting the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall tournament at the Alabama Tennis Stadium on Friday, September 13 and will continue through Sunday, September 15.

Alabama players participating in the tournament include, freshmen Avi Shugar and Marcelo Sepulveda Garza, junior Riccardo Roberto, and senior Alexey Nesterov. Roberto will look to repeat as champion after winning the Houndstooth Singles Draw a year ago.

During the three-day event, Alabama will welcome highly competitive opponents in Tulane, Tennessee, UAB, South Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma.

The event will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. with two rounds of doubles play, followed by one round of singles matches beginning at not before 12:30 p.m. On Saturday, two rounds of singles matches starting at 9 a.m. The final day of the event will be on Sunday with the last round of doubles and singles competition starting at 9 a.m.

Roberto/Nesterov will begin their day in doubles against Mandlik/Stewart (Oklahoma), while the freshman duo of Shugar/Sepulveda Garza will take on Meier/Stodder (Tennessee) at 9 a.m. CT. Each pair will play another round of doubles at 10 a.m. CT.

In the Singles Crimson Draw, Roberto has a matchup with Martim Prata (Tennessee) and Sepulveda Garza will play his first collegiate singles match against Roman Postolka of UAB. On the Houndstooth side, Shugar will take on Martin Bugaj (South Alabama), while Nesterov is set to compete against Alex Phillips (Georgia), not before 1:30 p.m. CT.

Results of the tournament will be posted on RollTide.com after each day is completed.
