
Mazen Osama and Patrick Kaukovalta Named to 2019 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team

Osama/Kaukovalta were the national runner-up in the NCAA Doubles National Championship
TEMPE, Ariz. – The duo of Mazen Osama and Patrick Kaukovalta were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association last week after being named to the 2019 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team for their NCAA Doubles National Championship appearance in May. Osama and Kaukovalta are the first players in program history to be named to the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team.
The ITA Collegiate All-Star Team honors the top student-athletes of the 2018-19 season from all five divisions of college tennis. It features the nation's top-ranked men's and women's players from the year-end Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, in addition to winners of the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships and 2019 NCAA Division I and III Championships.
The incredible run through the NCAA Doubles Championships ended on Saturday, May 25 as Osama and Kaukovalta fell to No. 2 Maxim Cressy and Keegan Smith of UCLA, 6-3, 6-4, in the 2019 NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles National Championship at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The duo finished ranked at No. 4 in the ITA/Oracle Doubles Rankings, which is tied for the highest doubles ranking in program history.
The pair ended their season with a 19-8 record, while the championship appearance was the first in program history in any NCAA Championship, including singles, doubles and the team tournament.
Osama and Kaukovalta also earned All-America honors in their record-breaking run through the tournament.
