Softball Begins Postseason Play Ranked No. 4 Nationally

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Heading into SEC Tournament play, Alabama softball is ranked No. 4 in the both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball top-25 rankings.
The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 4 in both polls after a weekend sweep at LSU to capture the Crimson Tide's sixth SEC regular-season championship. Alabama is the highest-ranked SEC team in both polls, joined in the top 10 by Florida (9/11) and LSU (10/10). In total, 10 SEC programs are represented in both top-25 polls with Mississippi State and Missouri receiving votes in at least one poll.
This week, Alabama opens play this week at the 2019 SEC Softball Tournament in College Station, Texas on Thursday, May 9 at 4 p.m. CT against the winner of Wednesday's Georgia vs. Arkansas game.
