
Jeremy Gschwendtner Named ITA Southern Region Rookie of the Year; Team Earns ITA Community Service Award

Gschwendtner had a team-best singles win percentage with a 13-3 record
TEMPE, Ariz. – Sophomore Jeremy Gschwendtner was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southern Region Rookie of the Year, the organization announced on Saturday. Gschwendtner compiled the best singles win percentage on the team with a 13-3 record in his first year eligible with the program.
The London, England native, also finished the year with a team-best 7-2 record in singles Southeastern Conference play, while playing primarily at the No. 6 spot. Gschwendtner ended the 2019 season on a three match win streak, with one win over a nationally-ranked opponent. As a team, Alabama was also recognized with the Southern Region's Community Service Award.
Next up for Alabama men's tennis are the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which are set to begin Monday, May 20 in Orlando, Fla.
