
Alabama Heads into NCAA Tournament with Top-Five Ranking in Penultimate National Polls

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – In the second-to-last national polls of the 2019 season, Alabama softball is ranked No. 4 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball top-25 and No. 5 on the USA Today/NFCA list.
The Crimson Tide, who earned a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament, is ranked in the top five in both polls for the third-straight week. Alabama, the SEC regular-season champion, is the highest-ranked league team in both polls, joined in the top 10 by Florida (8/7) and LSU (10/13). In total, 10 SEC programs are represented in both top-25 polls with Mississippi State and Missouri receiving votes in the USA Softball poll.
This week, Alabama hosts its 15th-consecutive NCAA Regional round, welcoming Arizona State, Lipscomb and Alabama State to Rhoads Stadium. The Sun Devils and Lady Bisons kick things off Friday, May 17 at 3 p.m. CT followed by the Tide and the Lady Hornets at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
