
Crimson Tide Climbs in Latest Oracle/ITA Rankings

Alabama jumped eight spots to No. 35 and senior Andie Daniell moved up to No. 47
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Alabama women's tennis team moved up eight spots to No. 35 in the Oracle/ITA National Team Rankings on Tuesday. Senior Andie Daniell also moved up 21 spots to No. 47 in the singles rankings.
The Crimson Tide (16-10, 4-7 SEC) is coming off a weekend in which it picked up its second win ever against No. 23 Florida, 4-1, on Friday, April 5. The victory was the first-ever in Gainesville as the Tide entered into Friday's match with a 1-41 all-time record against the Gators. The last timeout UA fell No. 3 South Carolina on Sunday, April 7.
Daniell is playing some of the best tennis of her career as of late by carrying a five-match winning streak, including three victories against nationally-ranked opponents. The Douglasville, Ga., native earned her highest ranked win after dominating No. 8 Ida Jarlskog of Florida, 6-3, 6-1, on Friday. Daniell also held strong against No. 5 Ingrid Martins of South Carolina, going up 6-4, 2-2, when the match went unfinished. Daniell is 21-9 in singles play in her final season with the Tide, including an 8-6 record against nationally-ranked opponents.
The team will be back at home this weekend to close out the regular season first on Friday, April 12 at 5 p.m. CT against No. 44 Arkansas and then against Missouri on Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m. CT. Sunday's match will be Senior Day for Daniell as she will be honored prior to the match.
