
Andie Daniell Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Singles Championships

The First Team All-SEC performer will return to the singles championships for the first time since her freshman year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Andie Daniell continues her impressive senior campaign after receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Singles Championships which is set to be played in Orlando, Fla., from May 20-25.
Daniell is returning to the singles championships for the first time since her freshman year in 2016. This season Daniell has a 24-9 singles record, including a 15-5 mark in dual match competition. In 2019, Daniell is 7-3 against top-125 foes and 6-2 in singles SEC competition. Last week she was named First Team All-SEC for the second-consecutive year.
The Douglasville, Ga., native has won her last eight matches with six coming against nationally-ranked opponents. Daniell has a career-best 11-6 mark against top-125 singles players in 2018-19, including earning her highest-ranked wins against No. 8 Ida Jarlskog of Florida (4/5) and No. 8 Eden Richardson of LSU (4/18).
In the latest Oracle/ITA Singles Rankings, Daniell moved up 14 spots to No. 35 in the country. On April 16, the senior earned her first-career SEC Player of the Week honor. In addition, earlier this month Daniell was named to the 2019 SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team for the second-straight year for her selfless work in the community.
Singles matchups along with match times will be announced at a later date. Next up for Daniell and the Alabama women's tennis team is Round One of the NCAA Team Championships at the Tallahassee Regional on Friday, May 3 at 1 p.m. CT versus No. 2 seed Central Florida.
