Alabama Gymnast Ariana Guerra Named SEC Specialist of the Week

The Crimson Tide senior posted career-best 9.95s on three events against Auburn to earn the conference honor
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Ariana Guerra capped a stellar Senior Night performance against Auburn last Friday by scoring her third career-best mark of the night, going 9.95 on the floor exercise, to close out the night and the Tigers.
On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference rewarded Guerra's performance by naming her the SEC Specialist of the Week. Guerra won all three of her events against the Tigers, the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise, with matching scores of 9.95, ensuring the Tide's 125th win in its last 126 outings against the Tigers.
In addition to personal-best scores for Guerra, her marks pushed the Tide to season-best team tallies on those three events, including a 49.350 on vault, 49.325 on the uneven bars and a 49.500 on the floor exercise.
Guerra and her teammates return to action this Saturday at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala., with the fifth-annual Elevate the Stage meet, where they will once again take on Auburn. Ticket information for the meet can be found at www.ElevateTheStage.com.
