Alabama Track and Field Men No. 9 and Women No. 14 in the National Indoor Rankings

The Crimson Tide men and women continue to figure in the top-15 in the NCAA Division I Track & Field National Rating Index
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field men are No. 9 and the women are No. 14 in the latest NCAA Division I Track & Field National Rating Index the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday.
The Crimson Tide men have been a fixture in the top-10 and the women have remained in the top-15 nationally since the preseason rankings came out.
The men's team is led by junior Shelby McEwen, who is ranked No. 1 in the nation after a personal-best leap of 7-7 (2.31m) in the high jump over the weekend. His mark is just three quarters of an inch off the school and Southeastern Conference records. The women's squad is led by sophomore Tamara Clark and senior Portious Warren, who are both ranked seventh nationally in their specialties. Clark is seventh in the 60 meters with a season-best time of 7.23, while Warren is seventh in the shot put with a season-best mark of 56-08.50 (17.28m).
After a strong showing at the Carolina Challenge last weekend, the Crimson Tide closes out its indoor regular season next weekend with student-athletes at a trio of meets – the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., and the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
