Jordan Lewis Named to SEC Community Service Team

The junior has volunteered with a variety of organizations in the Tuscaloosa area
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama junior guard Jordan Lewis was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team for the 2018-19 season, league office announced on Wednesday.
The Windermere, Fla., native volunteered with the Alberta Head Start program multiple times this season assisting in providing educational services to children between the ages of six weeks and five years. The program is geared toward educating children from low-income homes and/or those with disabilities. Lewis also spent time in the fall of 2018 volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Tuscaloosa and helped build houses in the community.
In addition, she collected personal hygiene items to donate to the VA hospital in Tuscaloosa and dropped them off and visited with veterans in the hospital. Around the winter holiday season, she volunteered as a bell ringer and helped raise money for the Salvation Army.
Lewis has earned a multitude of awards throughout her career, including being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2018. In 2017, she was tabbed to the All-SEC Freshman Team and the Associated Press SEC Newcomer of the Year, while earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors five times.
