
Alabama Track and Field Men No. 13 and Women No. 14 in the National Indoor Rankings

The Crimson Tide men and women continue to figure in the top-15 in the NCAA Division I Track & Field National Rating Index heading into the SEC Championships
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field men are No. 13 and the women are No. 14 in the latest NCAA Division I Track & Field National Rating Index the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday.
The Crimson Tide men and women have figured in the top-15 since the preseason rankings came out and continue to hold steady heading into this weekend's Southeastern Conference Championships.
Junior Shelby McEwen, the nation's No. 1 ranked high jumper with a season-best leap of 7-7 (2.31m), continues to lead the way for the UA men. Seniors Kord Ferguson and Gilbert Kigen also figure in the top-10 nationally heading into the postseason. Ferguson is ranked sixth in the shot put, while Kigen is currently No. 10 in the 5,000 meters.
Sophomore Tamara Clark, ranked in the top-10 nationally in the 60 and 200 meters, continues to set the pace for the women's team. Senior Portious Warren is also ranked in the top 10 in the nation, claiming the No. 8 spot in the shot put.
With the regular season finished, Alabama joins the rest of the SEC in Fayetteville, Ark., for this year's conference championships.
