Alabama Track and Field Off to a Solid Start at Carolina Challenge

After a limited slate of events on Friday, The Crimson Tide will have a busy Saturday of competition
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Alabama track and field team got things going at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, S.C., Friday afternoon.
Freshman Carl Nesbitt posted a jump of 6-7 (2.01m) in the men's high jump, tying for first in the open division.
Juniors Takyera Roberson and Katie Funcheon took sixth and seventh in the 400 meters, going 54.10 and 54.39, respectively.
Sophomore Demi Washington posted the third fastest time in the semifinals of the women's 60 meters with a 7.47, while senior Keitavious Walter ran a 6.76 in the men's 60-meter semifinal, with both advancing to Saturday's finals.
The Crimson Tide returns to action Saturday, at 10 a.m. ET with the women's pole vault.
