
Six Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent with Alabama Softball During Early Signing

The group will join the Crimson Tide in the fall of 2020
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball inked six student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. The group will join the Crimson Tide for the 2021 season.
"We are so excited about this class of six outstanding young ladies," UA head coach Patrick Murphy said. "They perfectly fill the needs of this recruiting cycle. We have a mix of offense, defense, power and speed."
Abby Doerr
Catcher – Eugene, Ore. – Elmira High School
- 2019 4A Player of the Year
- Ranked 41st in the Extra Inning Elite 100 for the class of 2020
- Two-time First Team All-State
- 2018 Oregon Sports Award Player of the Year

"Abby is one of the best hitting catchers in this class. She's a power-hitting lefty with a great arm as well. She was coached by her mother [Melissa], a former NCAA Division-I catcher, as well as former Alabama All-American Kayla Braud."
Bailey Dowling
Shortstop – St. Joseph, Ill. – St. Joseph-Ogdan

- Three-time AHSAA All-State
- 2018 Regional champion, two-time All-Area champion
- Two-time State qualifier
- Most wins (29) and strikeouts (332) in a season at Dothan High School
Murphy on Jaala Torrence
"Jaala will be our first Alabama-grown pitcher since Madi Moore. She's got great athletic genes with her dad [Jeff] as a national champion football player here at Alabama. We are hoping she can pitch and hit for us."
