Alabama Men’s Tennis Completes Day One of Singles Play at CCB Collegiate Invitational

Junior Jeremy Gschwendtner won both of his singles matches on Friday
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama junior Jeremy Gschwendtner came out strong in day one of the CCB Collegiate Invitational by winning both of his singles matches at the Country Club of Birmingham on Friday.
Round-by-Round
- Gschwendtner started his day by coming back against Jorge Ortegon of Lipscomb, to win 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-3 in the first round of the Crimson Singles Draw.
- In the second round of the Crimson Draw, Gschwendtner won in straight sets over SEC-foe Lukas Engelhardt of Ole Miss, 7-5, 6-3. Freshman Marcelo Sepulveda Garza bounced-back from a first round loss and came out victorious versus Juan Lugo from ETSU, 7-6(5), 6-4.
- In round two of the White Singles draw, freshman Avi Shugar also came back from a first round setback and won his match over Max Rebol of Samford, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, while junior Sam Fischer dropped both of his matches on the day.

- Saturday will begin with doubles play as Gschwendtner/Garza will take on Dworak/Gilheany of Louisiana and Fischer/Shugar are set to play against Pasini/Puric of UAB.
- All four Crimson Tide players will play another round of singles on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT.
