The junior fell to Riley Smith of USC in three sets
TULSA, Okla. – Junior Patrick Kaukovalta fell in his singles match to Riley Smith of Southern California in the second qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships, on Tuesday in Tulsa, Okla.
Round-by-Round
- Kaukovalta dropped the first set 6-4, before bouncing back in the second by winning 6-3. Smith closed out the match in the third set, winning 6-1.
- On Monday, he Espoo, Finland native, defeated No. 73 Karl Poling (Princeton), 7-5, 6-2, in the first round of qualifying.

- Kaukovalta and senior Edson Ortiz will play in the main doubles draw, while No. 42 Ortiz is set to play in the main singles draw with the schedule yet to be announced. The main draws of the tournament will run from Oct. 9-13.
