The Crimson Tide opens its fall slate in Oklahoma City
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama Rowing team will open its 2019-20 campaign this weekend at the Head of the Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Okla. This event will be the first of two regattas the Tide will compete in this fall.
This is the second time in program history that Alabama will compete in the Head of the Oklahoma, with last season being the first. Over 40 rowing teams and clubs will participate over the course of the weekend.
From Head Coach Glenn Putyrae
- "The Head of the Oklahoma is a great event in that it gives us an opportunity to get a lot of racing against quality competition. We have been spending a lot of time in singles, doubles, and pairs, so it will be good to see how we do in the small boats. The fun part is that we get to race in the big boats as well which will give us a sense of how we are progressing in the NCAA boats."
