For the first time in the history of the Halloween-flavored intrasquad gymnasts put full floor exercise routines on display
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Competing for a packed house in the Frances Smith Practice Facility at Coleman Coliseum Tuesday afternoon, the annual Alabama gymnastics Ghosts and Goblins Intrasquad ended in the first tie in series history.
Seniors Wynter Childers and Maddie Desch led the Ghosts while fellow senior Shea Mahoney and junior Lexi Graber led the Goblins.
Along with Childers and Desch, Team Ghost consisted of junior Alonza Klopfer, sophomore Sania Mitchell and freshman Makarri Doggette.
Junior Kylie Dickson, sophomore Griffin James and freshman Macy Orosco joined Mahoney and Graber to comprise the Goblin mob.
Fans got their first glimpse at the Tide's talented freshman class. Doggette stood out on all four events for Team Ghost, showing great power and difficulty. Orosco also delivered in her first performance in front of Alabama fans, delivering what head coach Dana Duckworth called "the best bar routine she's done."
HEAD COACH DANA DUCKWORTH SAIDÂ
"I thought the energy was good, and we made some good steps. We definitely have a lot of room for improvement on landings and other things. I was really proud of four-up, four-count on balance beam. I love our dance, I think our rhythm is good and we have some big beam routines. This team is going to be exciting and electric to watch and Coleman Coliseum is going to be hopping come January 17."
