Fischer and Shugar Finish Up Consolations at ITA Regionals on Friday

AUBURN, Ala. – Junior Sam Fischer and freshman Avi Shugar finished up their consolation singles matches on Friday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southern Regional Championships in Auburn, Ala.

Round-by-Round

Fischer went 2-0 on the day after besting Dmitrii Vasilev of Jacksonville State, 6-2, 6-3 and then defeating Andrej Trajkovski from Alabama State, 6-3, 6-0.
Shugar fell in his first consolation match of the day, but then bounced back with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) win against Chris Andre of Alabama State.

Tournament Note

With the two wins, Fischer moves to 6-1 in singles in his junior campaign.
