
Ortiz Falls in Second Round of Singles at ITA All-American Championships

The senior dropped his singles match to No. 3 Oliver Crawford (Florida)
TULSA, Okla. – Senior Edson Ortiz dropped a straight-set match to the No. 3 player in the country Oliver Crawford on Thursday in the Second Round of the Main Singles Draw at the ITA All-American Championships, on Thursday in Tulsa, Okla. Ortiz and doubles partner Patrick Kaukovalta advanced in the doubles consolations due to a walkover.
Round-by-Round
- No. 42 Ortiz was not able to get on track the opening set with Crawford taking it, 6-0. In the second, Ortiz fell down 2-1, before Crawford finished the match 6-1.
- The No. 29 duo in the nation in Ortiz/Kaukovalta moved on in doubles consolations after No. 2 Thompson/Wynn of Texas Tech pulled out of the tournament.
