Guarachi will represent Chile and is set to compete in doubles action
MELBOURNE, Australia – Alabama women's tennis alumna Alexa Guarachi is set to represent Chile in the 2019 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia Jan. 14 – 27. Guarachi will compete in doubles with partner Desirae Krawczyk.
During her time at Alabama, Guarachi earned multiple All-America and All-SEC honors. Guarachi ended her career at the Capstone with 109 victories in singles, which is the most singles victories ever recorded by a player in Alabama history. Furthermore, she wrapped up her doubles campaign with teammate Courtney McLane with 69 wins, which tops the Tide's all-time doubles list.
This marks Guarachi's first time qualifying for the Australian Open, but it is not her first time competing with partner Krawczyk. The pair joined forces and found success as doubles partners in July of 2018 when they won the Ladies Championship Gstaad.
