Alabama Track & Field Men No. 7, Women No. 13 in NCAA Indoor Preseason National Rankings

The Crimson Tide will open the 2019 indoor season in Birmingham Friday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Coming off a season in which it was named the Program of the Year, the Alabama men's track & field team is ranked No.7 in the 2019 U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason indoor rankings, two places better than a year ago.
The Crimson Tide women are also ranked in the top-20 in the preseason, checking in at No. 13 in the poll released Thursday, seven places ahead of last season's start.
Among Southeastern Conference teams in the men's top-10 Alabama is joined by Florida (2), Georgia (5) and Arkansas (8). Other SEC schools in the men's top 20 include LSU (17) and Texas A&M (19). Texas Tech starts the year in the No. 1 spot for the men.
In the women's rankings, Alabama is one of eight SEC schools in the top 20. The Crimson Tide is joined by Arkansas (1), Texas A&M (3), Florida (6), LSU (7), Georgia (8) and Kentucky (10).
Alabama opens the 2019 indoor track & field season Friday at the UAB Blazer Invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
