TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne, President Stuart Bell and the Crimson Tide Foundation recognized six families that have contributed leadership gifts to The Crimson Standard on Saturday following the first quarter of UA's football game against Texas A&M. The generous gifts of these families, along with the support of many others, has brought the fundraising total for the initiative to nearly $159 million.
On hand for Saturday's recognition were Melinda and Ed Aldag, the Hickman family, represented by Mark Hickman, Staci Hickman Parker and John Hickman, Kathy Mouron, Alex Rafiee representing his father, Farid Rafiee, and Sallie and Warren Williamson. Also honored, but not in attendance, was Mike Mouron and Kelly and C.T. Fitzpatrick.
The Crimson Standard, which was unveiled in August, is Alabama Athletics' 10-year, $600 million capital initiative, which is designed to comprehensively elevate the student-athlete experience, recruiting efforts and the overall game-day experience for all Crimson Tide fans.
