Mazen Osama Advances in Ivy Plus Invitational

The No. 3 player in the nation defeated Charlie Broom (Dartmouth), 6-1, 2-6, 7-6(3)

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Mazen Osama advanced in the opening round of the Ivy Plus Invitational Gold Draw, after defeating Charlie Broom (Dartmouth), 6-1, 2-6, 7-6(3), on Friday in Princeton, N.J. The No. 3 player in the country will take on Alex Brown (Illinois) on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. CT.

Osama and doubles partner sophomore Riccardo Roberto fell in two doubles matches, first to Weber/Shi (Harvard), 8-5 and then to No. 25 Brown/Chakravarthi (Illinois), 8-4. Roberto also dropped his singles match against Lev Kazakov (Cornell), 6-3, 6-1.

Two more singles rounds will be played on Saturday, while one doubles and one singles round will close out the event on Sunday.
