Riccardo Roberto Advances to Singles Final of Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall

The Houndstooth Draw Final will be played at 9 a.m. on Sunday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Sophomore Riccardo Roberto won a three-set thriller over Max Stewart (Oklahoma), 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to the finals of the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall Houndstooth Draw on Saturday afternoon at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. Roberto will take on Pat Harper (Tennessee) for the title on Sunday at 9 a.m.
Sophomore Patrick Kaukovalta also won his singles match by coming from behind to defeat Mason Beiler (Oklahoma), 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8). Sophomore Sam Fischer advanced via a walkover, while junior Zhe Zhou dropped his match to Ryan Seggerman (Princeton), 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Kaukovalta and Roberto fell in a hard-fought match in the semifinals of the Houndstooth Draw to Rodriguez/Seggerman (Princeton), 8-7(4), while sophomore Sam Fischer and junior Zhe Zhou lost to Cutting/Stevenson (Memphis), 8-3.
Fischer/Zhou advanced in the last round of doubles play via a walkover, while Kaukovalta/Roberto bested Aubone/Dunlap (Miami), 8-5.
The tournament will finish on Sunday with the final round of singles play beginning at 9 a.m.
