
Alexa Guarachi Becomes Highest-Ranked Alabama Women’s Tennis Alumna in Latest WTA Doubles Rankings

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Alexa Guarachi became the first Alabama women's tennis alumna to be ranked in the Top 100 of any Women's Tennis Association rankings after moving up 29 spots to No. 85 in the doubles standings, following the rankings release on Monday morning.
The Destin, Fla., native also became the first former Alabama player to win a WTA Title after she and partner Desirae Krawczyk defeated Arruabarrena/Bacsinszky in the finals of the WTA Ladies Championship Gstaad, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6, on Sunday in Gstaad, Switzerland.
After winning the title Guarachi and Krawczyk earned 280 points toward their doubles ranking to move Guarachi to 907 points and Krawczyk to 1060 points. The two also took home a purse of over $12,000.
