
Alabama’s Tamara Clark, Daija Lampkin and Christian Edwards Begin Competition at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships on Wednesday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama track & field freshmen Tamara Clark, Daija Lampkin and Christian Edwards will compete for the United States at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships, July 10-15, at Ratina Stadium in Tampere, Finland.
The trio qualified for the world meet with their performances at the USA Track & Field Junior Championships, June 15-17, in Bloomington, Ind.
Lampkin will run in the women's 100 meters while Clark is entered in the women's 200 meters. Both are also in the USA's 4x100-meter relay pool at the U20 meet. Meanwhile, Edwards is entered in the men's triple jump.
Lampkin will be the first of the Tide athletes to compete in Finland, as she is scheduled to run in the 100-meter heats at 4:27 a.m. CT on Wednesday. The semifinals and finals of the 100 meters are scheduled for Thursday, July 12.
Clark will open in the 200-meter heats at 4 a.m. CT on Friday, July 13. Semifinals are scheduled for noon CT on Friday, with the final set for 7:05 a.m. CT on Saturday, July 14.
The women's 4x100-meter relay heats will begin at 10:05 a.m. CT on Friday with the final set for 8:04 a.m. Saturday.
Edwards compete in the qualification round of the men's triple jump at 10 a.m. CT on Friday for a spot in the final, which will be held on Saturday at 7 a.m. CT.
