
Alabama Men’s Tennis’ Mazen Osama and Edson Ortiz Fall in First Round of NCAA Doubles Tournament

The duo were defeated by No. 25 Torpegaard/Joyce of Ohio State, 6-3, 7-6 (1)
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Junior Mazen Osama and sophomore Edson Ortiz fell to No. 25 Torpegaard/Joyce (Ohio State), 6-2, 7-6 (1), in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Tournament on Thursday night at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The No. 26 duo in the nation ended the season with a 16-10 record in their first year as a tandem. The pair played all of their matches in the No. 1 spot this season, including picking up two wins against nationally-ranked foes.
Osama will continue to play in the NCAA Singles Tournament tomorrow against No. 47 Runhao Hua (MICH) in the Round of 16 at 9 a.m. CT.
