
Alabama Men’s Tennis’ Mazen Osama Named ITA National Player to Watch

Junior Mazen Osama is the first-ever Crimson Tide player to earn the national award
TEMPE, Ariz. – Junior Mazen Osama was named the ITA National Player to Watch, the organization announced on Tuesday morning. Osama becomes the first-ever Crimson Tide player to win the national award.
Yesterday, Osama was named for the second year in a row as the ITA Southern Region Player to Watch on Monday, before earning the national recognition today.
Osama became the first All-American for Alabama men's tennis since 2001 after qualifying as a Top-16 national seed in the NCAA Singles Tournament, while coming in as the No. 10 singles player in the country in the May 3 Oracle/ITA Rankings. Osama has a 15-7 record, including nine wins over national-ranked foes.
Osama and partner sophomore Edson Ortiz also qualified for the NCAA Doubles Tournament. Both tournaments will be held from May 23-28 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
