TEMPE, Ariz. – Junior Mazen Osama moved up to No. 50 in the latest computerized Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's Division I Singles Rankings on Tuesday, as announced by the association. Osama and his partner sophomore Edson Ortiz re-entered the doubles rankings, coming in at No. 68.
Osama moved up 45 spots to achieve his highest ranking on the season after defeating his fourth nationally-ranked opponent this past Sunday against Arkansas' No. 65 Jose Salazar, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 1-0 (10-5). The Cairo, Egypt native, has won three of his last four singles matches including picking up another nationally-ranked win against No. 37 Patrick Kypson of Texas A&M on March 25. Osama is 10-5 so far in 2018, while holding down the No. 1 spot for the Crimson Tide.
