Alabama Track & Field’s Tamara Clark Named SEC Women’s Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama track & field's Tamara Clark has been named the Southeastern Conference Women's Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Clark won the 200 meters at the Tom Jones Invitational on April 13 in 22.57, the third-fastest time in Alabama history and the fourth-fastest time in the country this season. Her time is the second-fastest among freshmen in 2018. Clark also ran the second leg on the Tide's 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays at the Tom Jones as UA recorded the meet's top collegiate time in the 4x100 at 43.26, and the No. 2 collegiate time in the 4x400 at 3:34.37. The 4x100 relay time is the fifth-fastest in school history.
The Crimson Tide sprint and field event squads will be in action this weekend at the War Eagle Invitational, April 20-21, in Auburn, Ala., while the UA distance contingent will travel to Stanford for the Cardinal Classic.
