
Alabama Men’s Tennis’ Mazen Osama Achieves Highest Singles Ranking in his Career in Latest Oracle/ITA Singles Rankings

Junior Mazen Osama achieved his highest singles ranking of his career, coming in at No. 18 in the country
TEMPE, Ariz. – Junior Mazen Osama climbed to No. 18 in the latest computerized Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's Division I Singles Rankings on Tuesday, as announced by the association. Osama and his partner sophomore Edson Ortiz also jumped 14 spots in the newest doubles rankings, coming in at No. 37.
Osama moved up eight spots to achieve his highest ranking of his career and climbed the rankings for the third-straight week after besting his sixth nationally-ranked opponent this past Sunday against South Carolina's No. 32 Gabriel Friedrich, 7-5, 6-4.
The No. 37 duo in the country in Osama and Ortiz went 1-1 over the weekend, while picking up a win over No. 49 Dennis/O'Keefe, 6-2. The tandem has an impressive 16-5 record at the No. 1 doubles spot so far this season.
Alabama also made an appearance in the latest team rankings, moving five spots back to No. 50.
Alabama men's tennis will take on in-state rival Auburn in the first round of the 2018 SEC Men's Tournament at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 25 at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
