What has the transition been like from high school track to college?
Christian Edwards: "It's been a quite interesting transition because in high school I did not practice with the track team very much because I was also playing basketball. I like that I'm doing track work here, getting stronger and working on my technique to get better."
Why did you choose Alabama?
CE:Â "Well (Alabama jumps coach Miguel) Pate was a good long jumper and has coached a lot of good jumpers, so I believed he could make me a better jumper."
How did you feel coming out of the indoor season?
CE:Â "I'm felt very prepared for outdoor season. The last jump at SEC indoors helped me with confidence even more to build from there and do better during the outdoor season."
What are the team goals for outdoor season?
CE:Â "I believe we have a chance to win SECs again. And if we prepare ourselves and compete to our abilities, we can do well at NCAAs also."
How did it feel winning the SEC indoor championship?
CE:Â "It was really impressive because I'd never been part of a track championship team before. It was very amazing."
What are your individual goals for the outdoor season?
CE:Â "I want to clear 7'3 in the high jump and jump at least 55 feet in the triple jump."?
What is the environment like on the team?
CE:Â "It's a friendly environment, competitive. We compete when we practice, so we feel prepared when we go to meets."
