Alabama Gymnastics’ Lexi Graber Named SEC Freshman of the Week

The rookie won the all-around against North Carolina with a career-best score of 39.550
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Lexi Graber was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Cape Coral, Fla., native won the all-around against North Carolina last Friday with a career-best score of 39.550. She tied her career-best marks on the uneven bars and balance beam with matching 9.9s and posted a new career-best on the floor exercise with a 9.850 against the Tar Heels.
Graber's honor marks the Tide's first conference freshman of the week nod of the 2018 season. She leads Alabama's rookies with 23 routines in competition this season, including two all-around appearances. She has scored 9.85 or better in 14 routines and has scored back-to-back 9.9s on the balance beam over the past two meets.
Alabama competes in the fourth-annual Elevate the Stage meet against Auburn this Friday in Huntsville, Ala., before returning to Coleman Coliseum on March 16 at 7:30 p.m. for the Tide's regular-season finale against No. 1 Oklahoma.
