
Alabama Women’s Tennis’ Andie Daniell Moves Up to No. 89 in ITA Singles Rankings

Junior Andie Daniel is undefeated (8-0) in singles play at the No. 1 position
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's tennis junior Andie Daniell ranks at No. 89 on the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Singles Rankings, as announced by the association on Wednesday. Daniell was ranked at No. 106 on Nov. 15 and started the season at No. 37 on the preseason list.
Daniell has already started her junior campaign off on a roll, finishing fall play, 9-2. During the fall slate, Daniell defeated then-No. 45 Lindsey Hodge from Rice University, 6-4, 6-1, while also reaching the semifinal round of the 2017 ITA Southern Regional Championships.
So far this spring season, Daniell has been scorching hot with a perfect 8-0 record in singles at the No. 1 position and sports an unblemished 9-0 mark in doubles play. In the first road test of the year, Daniell set the tone for the upset over UCF, who received national votes on Jan. 24, 4-3, after downing Ksenia Kuznetsova, 6-4, 6-1, in singles while topping Ksenia Kuznetsova/Maria Martinez, 6-4, with teammate Ann Selim in doubles.
Daniell and the Crimson Tide will return to the court on Friday, Feb. 9, when they take on No. 24 Washington at the Nordstrom Tennis Center at 3 p.m. CT.
