Alabama Gymnast Kiana Winston Earns Third SEC Specialist of the Week Honor

The Fort Worth, Texas, native has now won the honor three times in the season’s first five weeks
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the third time this season, Alabama gymnast Kiana Winston has been named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.
The Fort Worth, Texas, native won two events last Friday to lead the Crimson Tide to a decisive win over SEC rival Arkansas, 197.000-196.350. Winston scored a meet-best 9.95 on the floor exercise to help clinch Alabama's win over the Razorbacks. Her score paced the Crimson Tide to a season-best 49.400 on the floor exercise and a season-best score overall. Winston also won the uneven bars with a 9.900 to lead the Tide to a 49.325 on that event.
Winton has now won specialist of the week honors in three of the five weeks during the 2018 season.
Alabama returns to the road this week, taking on No. 5 Florida in Gainesville, Fla., at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 9 before returning home on Feb. 16 to face Kentucky on Alumni Night in Coleman Coliseum.
