TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's track & field team moved up one spot to No. 5, while the Crimson Tide women jumped five places to No. 17 in the latest U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regular-season indoor rankings released Monday.
The Tide men took home a pair of individual event victories at the New Mexico Classic over the weekend – Ruebin Walters in the 60-meter hurdles and Shelby McEwen in the high jump. The Alabama women also remain in the top-25 after wins by Daija Lampkin (200 meters), Jaimie Robinson (triple jump) and the women's 4x400-meter relay. Senior Kaitlin Walker also broke her week-old school record in the 600 meters with a time of 1:30.89 in Albuquerque.
Alabama will split its squads between three meets Feb. 9-10. The Tide sprinters and field event athletes will compete at Clemson's Tiger Paw Invitational while the distance corps will enter runners in the Iowa State Classic and Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge.
