
No. 3 Mazen Osama Moves to Round of 32 in ITA All-American Championships

Osama defeated No. 32 Nicolas Moreno de Alboran (UCSB), 6-3, 6-3, in singles
TULSA, Okla. – The No. 3 player in the country, senior Mazen Osama, won his first singles match in the main draw of the 2018 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships on Thursday at the Michael D. Case Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Osama bested No. 32 Nicolas Moreno de Alboran (UCSB), 6-3, 6-3, to move on to the Round of 32. With the win, the No. 2 seed in the tournament will take on No. 91 Bar Botzer (Wake Forest) tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT.
The No. 9 doubles pair in the country, in Osama and junior Edson Ortiz, fell to No. 40 Daniel Cukierman/Tanner Smith (USC), 6-7(4), 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) on Thursday night. The duo will play in the consolation bracket on Friday at 3 p.m. CT against No. 42 Thomson/Wynn (Texas Tech).
