Alabama Gymnast Kiana Winston Named SEC Specialist of the Week

The Ft. Worth, Texas, native started her senior season off with a pair of individual wins at Michigan
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Kiana Winston started her senior season out with two wins on the road at No. 7 Michigan, which led to her being named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.
The Ft. Worth, Texas, native won the uneven bars (9.925) and balance beam (9.900) in the Crimson Tide's season opener. Her uneven bars mark was the highest score of the meet on any event. She is ranked in the top-five nationally in both events following the first week of the season.
After starting 2018 on the road with a non-conference opponent, Alabama opens its home and SEC schedule on Friday against archrival Georgia at 7:30 p.m.
