Men climb four spots; women up six in first regular-season computer rankings
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's track & field team is ranked No. 5, while the Crimson Tide women are No. 14 in the first U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regular-season indoor rankings released Monday.
The Tide men jumped four spots from their preseason No. 9 ranking after two solid season-opening performances at the UAB Blazer Invitational Jan. 12 and the Vanderbilt Invitational Jan. 19-20.
Alabama climbed six spots from No. 20 to No. 14 in the women's rankings, fueled primarily by strong showings in the field events and relays over the first two weeks of the season.
Both squads will be in action at the upcoming Bob Pollock Invitational, Jan. 26-27 at Clemson University.
