
Alabama Gymnast Kiana Winston Earns Second SEC Specialist of the Week Honor of the Season

The Ft. Worth, Texas, native won three individual events to lead the Crimson Tide over SEC rival Georgia
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second week in a row, Alabama gymnast Kiana Winston has been named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.
The Ft. Worth, Texas, native won three events last Friday to lead the Crimson Tide to a convincing win over SEC rival Georgia. Winston won her second uneven bars (9.925) and balance beam (9.900) titles in as many weeks while also taking top honors on the floor exercise (9.900) against the Bulldogs. Her uneven bars mark was the highest score of the meet on any event.
Winston is ranked third in the nation on the uneven bars and first in the SEC, and is sixth nationally on the balance beam.
Alabama returns to the road this week, taking on No. 1 LSU in Baton Rouge, La., at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19 before returning home for back-to-back Fridays in Coleman Coliseum.
