
Alabama Men’s and Women’s Tennis Open Spring Season Simultaneously

Both Crimson Tide tennis programs will play Jackson State at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 13
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the first time in program history, the Alabama men's and women's tennis teams will kickoff the spring season playing a pair of simultaneous dual matches against Jackson State on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. First serve for both squads is set for 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT.
"We're looking forward to kicking off the spring season with our Alabama men's team in our home opener this Saturday," head coach Jenny Mainz said. "This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our Alabama Tennis teams simultaneously as we take on Jackson State. It's going to be an electric atmosphere indoors and the fans are going to enjoy the energy of both teams playing together."
"The spring season is what we all look forward to," continued Mainz. "We're excited to see this team play collectively in the Crimson and White."
"Opening day is always special," head coach George Husack added. "No more dress rehearsals as it's showtime. And to have both teams play at the same time is even more exciting. It is going to be a lot of fun and a unique experience for our players and fans. Energy and excitement delivered from sunrise to sunset."
Saturday's matches between the women's team and the Lady Tigers will mark the second and third meeting in program history, while the men will face the Tigers for the seventh and eighth time.
