TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis program hosted its Alumni Reunion Event this past weekend at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility on Friday night and all day Saturday.
The event turned out to be a huge success, with alumni from seven different decades making appearances beginning with the class of 1953 and finishing with the class of 2017.
"What a fun weekend and opportunity for the Alabama Tennis family to celebrate our past, present, and future," said Alabama head coach George Husack. "The memories and laughs shared were priceless and we all got to create some more of our own."
On Friday night the men's tennis program hosted a social for all alumni, while on Saturday morning a Doubles Wooden Racket tournament took place inside of the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. Current sophomore Alexey Nesterov, and former Tide standout Ricky Doverspike (Class of 2012) came away as tournament champions.
Saturday afternoon lunch was held in the A-Club room inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium for alumni and families to enjoy prior to kickoff between Alabama and Colorado State.
The men's tennis team begins its fall season this week with its being completed Tuesday and its first tournament action, when the team hosts the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall Tournament this weekend, beginning on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
