Alabama Men and Women Ranked No. 4 in USTFCCCA Preseason Regional Cross Country Rankings

Crimson Tide men receive votes in preseason national rankings
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's cross country teams both earned No. 4 rankings in their respective U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region preseason rankings released this week. The Crimson Tide men also received votes in the USTFCCCA preseason national poll.
Ole Miss earned the No. 1 spot in both the men's & women's regional rankings. On the men's side, Middle Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida State round out the top-five. Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Florida State follow the Rebels in the women's top-five.
The Crimson Tide will open the 2017 cross country season this Friday, Sept. 1, at the Strut's Season Opener, hosted by Jacksonville State in Oxford, Ala. The women will run a 4K race beginning at 6 p.m. CT, followed by a men's 5K race at 6:40 p.m.
