Alabama Lands Four on 2017 Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars List

Lakareber Abe, Kristen Gillman, Cheyenne Knight and Lauren Stephenson honored for their work in the classroom
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's golfers Lakareber Abe, Kristen Gillman, Cheyenne Knight and Lauren Stephenson have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars list, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The quartet are four of 952 women's college golfers at all levels of the NCAA who were honored this season. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's tournaments.
Abe's selection is the third of her career. Knight was selected for the second time while Gillman and Stephenson were selected for the first time. Alabama has had 65 student-athletes named to the WGCA All-American Scholars list since the award's inception in 1985, including 35 since 2005 under head coach Mic Potter.
