Alabama’s Lauren Stephenson Advances to Third Round at U.S. Women’s Open

Sophomore one of two amateurs at par or better after posting back-to-back even par rounds
BEDMINSTER, N.J. – Alabama's Lauren Stephenson finished at even-par for the second day in a row on Friday to advance to the third round of the 2017 U.S. Women's Open at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.
Stephenson (72-72/144) is tied for 31st place and her score is No. 2 among all amateurs at this year's Open. South Korea's Hye-Jin Choi is the low amateur heading into Saturday's third round. Choi (69-69/138) is 6-under par and tied for second place overall. Stephenson and Choi are two of the five amateurs who remain in the field.
