Crimson Tide men remain No. 1 in the South Region; women rank No. 3
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's track and field team remained at No. 4 for the third consecutive week, while the women are ranked No. 20 in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings, released Monday. The men's team posted 220.26 points while the women's team earned 94.75 points. Regionally, the men are ranked No. 1 in the South region for the second straight week, while the women are No. 3.
The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Ranking points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points.
Alabama will travel downstate this weekend to compete at Auburn's War Eagle Invitational, April 21-22.
