Alabama Men’s Golf Moves to Top of Leaderboard After Two Rounds of Mason Rudolph Championship

Redshirt freshman Josh Sedeno in a tie for first heading into Sunday’s final round
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the second consecutive day, the Alabama men's golf team carded a season-low round which helped vault the Crimson Tide into the top position after 36 holes of the 2017 Mason Rudolph Championship. Alabama collected a 12-under par 272 during Saturday's second round, which followed Friday's 6-under 278, to move UA to the top of the leaderboard with a 36-hole total of 18-under par 550.
The Tide continue to be led by the play of redshirt freshman Josh Sedeno, who is in a tie for first overall after two rounds. The Roseville, Calif., native has carded back-to-back season-best rounds of 3-under par 68 – one of four Alabama golfers who carded a 68 on Saturday. Sedeno, who has recorded 10 birdies throughout the two days, will enter Sunday's third and final round tied for the lead with Florida's Sam Horsfield and Andy Zhang, at 6-under 136.
Junior Lee Hodges, who had a bogey-free round on Saturday, carded a score in the 60s for the sixth time in his last eight rounds with his 3-under par 68. The Ardmore, Tenn., native is just one stroke back of Sedeno in a tie for fourth overall with a two day total of 5-under par 137 (69-68). Hodges now has shot below par in 13 of his last 14 rounds played.
Sophomore Davis Riley gave the Tide three golfers among the top 15 after 36 holes, as he is in a tie for 12th overall with a 3-under par 138 (71-68) on the on the par 71, 7,100 Vanderbilt Legends Course South. Junior Jonathan Hardee collected his second straight round of 1-under 70 and is in a tie for 18th with a 2-under par 140.
Junior Steven Setterstrom was the fourth Crimson Tide golfer to collect a 68 on Saturday and rounds out UA in a tie for 29th with an even par 142 (74-68).
Alabama will carry a one stroke lead over sixth-ranked Florida (551) heading into Sunday's final 18 holes. Tournament host and third-ranked Vanderbilt (554) is third, while No. 21 Duke (560) and No. 26 Missouri (560) are tied for fourth overall.
The Crimson Tide will be paired alongside the Gators and Commodores for Sunday's final 18 holes. The three teams will begin the third round of play at 10:10 a.m. CT off Hole No. 1.
