Crimson Tide Tied for the Lead after Second Round at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

Gillman leads individual race, Knight one shot back entering final round
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Alabama women's golf team shot a 7-over par 291 on Saturday and is tied for the lead after the second round of competition at the the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the par-71, 6,218-yard Long Cove Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The Tide (282-291/573) is tied with Duke (286-287/573) at 5-over par. Arizona State is third at 8-over par (288-288/576), tournament host South Carolina is fourth at 12-over par (289-291/580) and Baylor (291-296/587) and Georgia (292-295/587) are tied for fifth at 19-over par.
Freshman Kristen Gillman (58-71/139) leads the individual race at 3-under par while sophomore Cheyenne Knight (68-72/140) is tied for second at 2-under par. Sophomore Lauren Stephenson (71-75/146) is tied for 14th at 4-over par. Junior Lakareber Abe is tied for 31st at 7-over par (75-74/149) and senior Mia Landegren (78-80/158) is tied for 71st at 16-over par.
Alabama will be paired with Duke and Arizona State in Sunday's final round starting with Mia Landegren at 8:30 a.m. CT, followed by Lakareber Abe (8:39), Lauren Stephenson (8:48), Cheyenne Knight (8:57) and Kristen Gillman (9:06).
With a win on Sunday, Alabama would capture its fourth Darius Rucker Intercollegiate title in the last seven years. The Tide previously won the tournament in 2011, 2012 and 2016. Knight is seeking her second individual title at the Rucker. She won the 2016 tournament with an even-par 213 (67-74-72).
