Alabama Women’s Tennis Q&A: Kimberley Gintrand

The second Q&A is with Kimberley Gintrand, a talented freshman from Angers, France. Gintrand has a 1-0 mark in both singles and doubles play, as she has posted wins in the No. 6 singles spot and the No. 2 doubles position.
Q: What was your first visit to campus like?
A: I was amazed by everything. I have never seen a University like that.
Q: What surprised you most about Alabama?
A: People are very nice and it is not like that everywhere.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
A: Some good French food!
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa?
A: My favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa is Taco Mama and Heritage House.
Q: What is your favorite tennis memory?
A: When I played the in the French Championship in Roland Garros.
Q: Who inspired you most in tennis?
A: Maria Sharapova inspired me the most since I started tennis. I love her combativeness on the court and her confidence.
Q: When did playing tennis in college become a goal for you?
A: Last summer. I discovered what it means to really play tennis in college, and since that moment I couldn't wait to be here.
Q: What song pumps you up to play?
A: I listen to a lot of Eminem songs.
Q: What is your favorite movie made before you were born?
A: Back To The Future.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: I am a big fan of movies, and I have a lot of favorite movies. If I have to choose one I would say October Sky.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: To be a professional tennis player.
Q: If you could live in a book, which book would you live in?
A: The Alchemist.
Q: What is your favorite hobby outside of tennis?
A: Watching movies and running.
Q: If you could meet any person in the world who would it be?
A: Roger Federer, he is a legend.
Q: If you were playing a pro circuit what grand slam would you want to win most?
A: Wimbledon, I love the place.
Q: What do you like to hear from fans when they are cheering for you?
A: Let's go Kim!!!
Q: What are some goals you look to achieve this spring season?
A: Enjoy every moment on the court.
Q: If you weren't playing tennis what sport would you play?
A: Track and field.
Q: Who would win an arm wrestling competition on the team?
A: For sure Andie!
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
A: Christmas, I love the atmosphere and also all the food!
Q: If you could give one message to your fans what would it be?
A: Continue to come watch us play and make a lot of noise for our team!! ROLL TIDE!!
