TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – It will be a star-studded couple of weekends in Coleman Coliseum for the No. 6 ranked Alabama gymnastics starting this Friday.
On Friday, Feb. 17, in addition to hosting No. 17 Auburn at 7:30 p.m. CT, the Crimson Tide is also hosting its annual Alumni Night, with past national champions, All-Americans and Scholastic All-Americans returning to Tuscaloosa.
Also during the Alabama-Auburn meet, as part of Alabama head coach Dana Duckworth's ReadBAMARead literacy initiative, the West Alabama elementary school that has the most students, teachers and staff sign in at the ReadBAMARead table on the concourse of the Coliseum will have a chance to win $1,000 worth of books for their school, which will be awarded at the Tide's meet against Boise State.
As part of the Crimson Tide's Alumni Night, more than 50 former gymnasts and their families will return to Tuscaloosa to cheer on the next generation of Alabama's championship legacy. The alumni will be introduced prior to the meet.
Then, against No. 7 Boise State on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m., Alabama will welcome special guest and Olympic Champion Nastia Luikin to Coleman Coliseum.
Prior to the meet, Luikin will visit a pair of local elementary schools in support of ReadBAMARead and childhood literacy. She will also sign autographs prior to the gymnastics team and will hand out award following the Tide and Broncos meet.
Tickets to both meets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum and online at RollTide.com.
